Christie Del Rey-Cone

Christie Del Rey-Cone represents employers in the full range of employment litigation and counseling matters. She has litigated a wide variety of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, restrictive covenant, ERISA, contract, and tort claims. Her litigation experience includes single plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, class action, and collective action claims arising under federal and state law. She also has worked on several appellate matters in the Second Circuit Federal Court of Appeals.
Ms. Del Rey-Cone regularly advises clients on counseling matters, drafts human resources policies, and leads training programs. She also has managed internal investigations into allegations of employee misconduct. Ms. Del Rey-Cone has substantial experience in auditing overtime exemptions, as well as independent contractor classifications. She has particular expertise in the financial services, transportation, and insurance industries. Ms. Del Rey-Cone also obtained unique insight into client issues through a nine month secondment with the employment law team at one of the premier global financial services firms.
In 2011, Chambers listed Ms. Del Rey-Cone as being "one to watch" in New York Labor & Employment, with clients describing her as "an exceptional advocate and a thoughtful, practical adviser." She has also been named a "New York Rising Star" by the Super Lawyers publication.
Prior to joining the firm's New York office, Ms. Del Rey-Cone was a partner in Seyfarth Shaw's New York office and previously worked at Morgan Lewis in New York. At these firms, she developed substantial expertise in helping clients avoid and solve their most pressing employment law challenges.
Ms. Del Rey-Cone received her J.D. from Seton Hall University Law School in 2002, where she was the notes and comments editor for the Constitutional Law Journal. Before entering private practice, she clerked for Magistrate Judge Arlene R. Lindsay of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Ms. Del Rey-Cone received her B.A. in sociology and American Studies from Franklin & Marshall College in 1999.
Ms. Del Rey-Cone is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit; the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of New York; and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. She is a member of the New York and American Bar Associations.
She and her husband and two children live in New York City. Ms. Del Rey-Cone serves as the President of the PDR Foundation for the Study of Uterine Cancer which is a passionate supporter of the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge in New York City.
